Bellurgan United produced a fine performance to beat local rivals Glenmuir 5 – 1 to reach the National Cup North Leinster Final. Goals from Sean Hoey (3), Brian Boyle & Adam McCoy sent them through to a February Final against Balbriggan.
The game was a well contested and pretty even affair and finely balance at 1 – 1 before Bellurgan began to pull away. Brian Boyle got Bellurgans 1st goal with an excellent strike before Sean Hoey and Adam McCoy added the 2nd and 3th. Adam McCoy’s was the stand out goal in the game, a top corner strike from outside the box after excellent build up play by his team mates.
Well done to the full squad and the coaches. Both teams still have the last 32 of the Sketchers National Cup to look forward to in January, the draw for which will be held this week by the SFAI,
